Setting Up Success: Why It Matters!

For many students, major school transitions can be overwhelming. Moving from elementary to middle school or middle school to high school often brings new schedules, multiple teachers, increased academic expectations, larger social environments, and unfamiliar routines.

For neurodivergent students, these transitions can have an even greater impact, affecting not only academic performance but also emotional well-being, self-esteem, social relationships, behavioral regulation, school engagement, and overall quality of life. Without appropriate supports, students may struggle to adapt to new environments, advocate for their needs, build meaningful peer connections, and maintain the confidence necessary to succeed.

Setting Up Success was created to provide proactive, structured support that bridges this gap, offering sensory-friendly experiences, family education, and practical transition tools to help students build confidence, strengthen self-advocacy skills, and successfully navigate these critical milestones. By supporting students and their families, we help create a foundation of confidence, resilience, and skills needed to build long-term academic, social, and emotional success!

These changes can lead to increased anxiety, challenges with executive functioning, social difficulties, and decreased academic confidence.
